A most informative and enjoyable tour of a Iberian pig farm and iberico ham curing factory. Roger was a most delightful guide, providing lots of info on the iconic jamon of Spain and taking good care of us throughout the trip. We wanted to take another tour with Roger but as expected of such a good guide, Roger was already booked out in advance. Would definitely recommend anyone who is interested in iberico jamon to join this tour with Roger.

Roger Davies is first class. All I wanted for my 50th birthday was to visit an Iberian pig farm and then eat the best ham in the world. This is an all day excursion. We spent a few hours walking around a beautiful farm and then were treated to a delicious tasting of their ham and chorizo with wine. We then visited a ham producer, had a tour of their facilities and then ended with another amazing ham tasting with wine. We then finished our day with a leisurely lunch in Aracena. It was a perfect day.

----Toller Reiseführer, tolle Tour!---
Wir haben glücklicherweise diese Tour gebucht: wir wurden morgens in unserem Hotel von dem sehr charmanten Roger abgeholt und hatten eine sehr unterhaltsame und informative Fahrt durch wunderbare Landschaft nach Jabugo, wo der Schinken schon seit 1879 hergestellt wird. Dort lernten wir sehr viel über die Schweine, deren Aufzucht und über die Herstellung des Schinkens. Auch durften wir ihn gepaart mit hervorragendem Sherry probieren. Das war schon die erste Sensation.
Als zweite Sensation fuhren wir auf einen Hof, wo glückliche Schweine unter Eichen zusammen mit vielen anderen Tieren unter der Obhut von Pollonia, ihrem Sohn und Schwiegertochter ein sehr idyllisches Leben führen dürfen.
Nach einem Spaziergang durch die Eichenhaine fuhren wir auf einer sehr schönen Route nach Aracena.
Hier führte Roger uns in ein Restaurant, das wir niemals alleine gefunden hätten und hatten ein wirklich hervorragendes Essen.
Verschiedene Tapas aus regionalen Produkten, hervorragender Wein, nette Unterhaltung, köstliche Hauptspeise mit verschiedenen Stücken vom Iberico Schwein. Das war das Highlight Nummer drei. Danach ging es zurück nach Sevilla.
Roger war ein so netter Gastgeber, der uns immer genau so viel über die Kultur, das Essen und Trinken erzählte, wie wir wollten. Er ist gut informiert, witzig und erfahren, und er hätte uns noch tausend weitere Fragen beantworten können. Wenn wir wieder nach Spanien kommen, würden wir jederzeit wieder eine Tour mit ihm buchen.

Fue una experiencia inolvidable. Para nosotros, la mejor de nuestros diez dias en España. Algo diferente y muy relajante ademas de super interesante. Roger, nuestro guía, es la persona mas culta que he conocido. Su compañía fue extraordinaria. Mi pequeño hijo lo disfruto muchísimo tambien. Laura y el otro señor de 5 Jotas, muy preparados y excelentes personas como Roger. Gracias a todos los que hicieron posible que vivieramos esta experiencia unica. Lo recomiendo 100 por ciento.

Roger is a great tour guide, host. He has a great relationship with to site hosts which opened up the people interaction; the pig farm is very real, authentic, providing insight; Roger’s knowledge gave us a complete understanding when he toured us through the cure rooms; his lunch restaurant experience selection is perfect - great local Spanish cuisine and people. Chatting with Roger in the drive about Spain, Jamin, and various subjects is great fun; we learned a lot!.

Roger collected us from our Seville hotel and the conversation didn’t stop until he dropped us back. With knowledge of Spain collected over 35 years Roger not only gave us a memorable Iberian Ham Tour but also lots of information that made the rest of our Andalusian tour extra special, including sherry tasting, the white villages around Ronda and helping us secure a table in a 2star Michelin restaurant.
Don’t have breakfast! you will need room for the delicious Spanish tortilla and home reared ham served at the farm, after walking the beautiful countryside side to see the evergreen and cork oqk trees. Most of the breeding pigs were in the farm as we just missed the acorn season so we got to meet them close up. The factory tour was really interesting and seeing the 1000’s of hams breathtaking before a guided tasting of the different cuts of ham with sherry. At the restaurant we were served a variety of hams and sausages, that Roger’s explained followed by wild asparagus we later saw growing just off the roadside , then different cuts of pork a particularly favourite was the tender cheeks all washed down with some Spanish wine selected by Roger. We have been on many tours but this one was particularly memorable as it felt so personal due to the close relationship Roger has developed with the locals we felt welcome at each place and the lovely lady of mature years who made us the tortilla will have a special memory in my heart.
Roger we can’t wait to return to Spain and ask you to share more of your knowledge with us, thank you so much for making the day a true highlight of our holiday.

What a fantastic day out! Roger is do knowledgeable and personable. The scenery was beautiful and we loved visiting the working farm to see the pigs. The lady who hosted us was so welcoming. The ham drying process was fascinating too. The lunch was out of this world, followed by a nice walk to the castle. Genuinely a perfect day for us. Thank you 🙏🏻

I surprised my boyfriend with Roger's Iberian ham tour for his birthday. This full day (about 9am-4:30pm) was one of the highlights of our trip! The drive out from Seville was beautiful, and Roger was so friendly and engaging, even sharing his knowledge with us about local culture, cork harvesting, wine, and more. His connections with the local farms, producers, and restaurants made this a really unique experience. We loved tracking down the grazing pigs at Pollonia's farm, and enjoying her homemade tortilla with wine and iberico - it doesn't get much more 'farm to table' than this! The factory tour in Jabugo was very informative, and we used our knew knowledge on identifying the grades of ham on the remainder of our trip. Lunch at Jose Vicente in Aracena was fantastic - don't eat a big breakfast and make sure to save room for course after course of delicious food, several of which featured different preparations of the Iberico ham. The ribs are outstanding! If you're up for it, walk off your lunch by meandering up to the church at the top of the hill, and be rewarded with a beautiful panorama of the surrounding landscape. We'll remember this tour fondly!

I just realised that I had not responded to your comments on the Iberian ham tour. I am so glad that you enjoyed the tour. Tracking down the pigs that were eating acorns was one of the best parts of the day.

My girlfriend and I did the Iberian ham tour with Roger. It was a full day between the farm, ham factory and lunch and probably the most memorable day of our entire trip. He was very knowledgeable about the region and local cuisine, and his relationships with local farmers, factories and restaurants created an experience which would be impossible to replicate otherwise. Much more than just a tour, truly a memorable experience.

We had a fantastic day (again) with Roger. We did the sherry tour on our last visit and enjoyed it so much we actually checked on Roger’s availability before booking our flights and hotel. The ham tour was another delight, from the farm, where we were treated to some wine, tortilla and of course some beautiful Iberico ham, to Montesierra to see the ham curing (learning about the grading system) and then to a fantastic lunch at the restaurant Jose Vicente. Roger said to have a light breakfast but by the end of the day we had eaten far too much! Amazing Iberico hams accompanied by some lovely wines. We drove through some beautiful countryside and learned so much about ham gradings - had fun on the rest of our holiday checking what grade of ham we were actually eating!

Thank you Jenny for your very kinds comments. The only problem with my ham tour is that you get addicted to acorn-fed Iberian ham and when you get back home it's more difficult to get hold of (or even impossible) and is even more expensive!
