The whale watching was the highlight of our trip. We couldn't believe how active the whales were. Followed them for most of our excursion. We were very happy that we chose this trip.

The crew were excellent, very informative about the whales. The service on the boat very good, breakfast, lunch and endless drinks. The boat was very clean and stable Great Experience.

This is our second time doing this tour and it never disappoints! Great food and drinks, safe stable boat, wonderful attentive crew and you’ll learn lots about whales! I love the platform because it allows you to walk around easily so you can always get the best views. Wasn’t over crowded. We will definitely return!

This was the perfect adventure. I’ve done other whale watching excursions in PV and this one is 100% the best.

I gave the tour a 4 because we had a very good time overall. The negatives shared here are minor, but are noted to help the tour folks improve. Positives: We saw a lot of whales, the boat was well kept, staff friendly and helpful, crew was very conscientious about showing us the whales and sharing lots of information while giving the whales space. The boat was not overcrowded and we had great seats and great views of the bay. Open bar was nice and bartender was friendly and efficient. Breakfast food was fine, and the cook was nice.
Negatives: our email confirmed departure time to be 8:30, but when we arrived at the marina at 8 to be in time for boarding, we were told the departure time was 9:00. No explanation why the email and tour booking site was different from the actual departure time. We had to hang around for nearly an hour. Although lunch was provided, they did not have enough sandwiches available for all attendees. I waited until the line was shorter and found that there was no lunch left. I wasn’t there for the food, but this was disappointing. The trivia game to win a t-shirt was a little strange. Great questions, but there were people that were really obnoxious about raising their hands first and they ended up winning.
Overall, I would recommend this tour and we were very happy with the tour.

We had 2 whale watching trips with Mikes, the 1st was from Nuevo Vallarta , quite a simple process of boarding from the marina, the 2nd week we went from Puerto Vallarta main port which was a bit more chaotic with bigger crowds using various other tour operators at the same time, so departing from NV was easier.
The boats are a good size with upper and lower decks giving plenty of good viewing points. FacilitIes on board are excellent with toilets, a free bar and good lunch provided, staff work non stop looking after you too.
There is commentary on the whales which we found useful and the skipper knew where to take us to see these beautiful creatures. The 1st trip we saw plenty of whales but none breaching so we decided to go a 2nd time and we’re rewarded by loads of whales breaching, a fantastic sight to see these majestic animals in their natural environment.
Would recommend using Mikes if you are going Whale watching , good value, lovely boats and great service .

The staff is second to none!! They were very attentive, knowledgeable, and professional! The only concern is the seating arrangement didn’t accommodate many people up front.

Attentive crew. Tasty guacamole. Tasty pina colada’s. Respectful of the whales. Informative trip. Knowledgeable staff. We learned quite a bit about the whales. Fun atmosphere. I really appreciate that the boat was not over crowded. I admire how they encouraged guests to take care with plates and cups in the wind so that we weren’t accidentally littering.

This was a great tour. We took the last tour of the season and were able to see a momma and baby with multiple breaches. The tour guide and photographer were great!
Be sure to take Dramamine before boarding the boat. Even my husband who doesn't get motion sick felt a little whoosie.
The breakfast was a continental breakfast and lunch was guacamole and sandwiches, which honestly was perfect.
It was a great tour and we highly recommend it.

We had a great whale watching experience with Mike’s Tours. The staff on board were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to everyone.
We were given a light breakfast with fresh fruits and cereal. Plus a lunch with sandwich’s, guacamole, and drinks available.
There were several pods of whales we followed and photographed plus a mother and calf the proved very interesting to watch.
We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing whales in the wild.

What’s the best time of year for this type of tour?

We were told, when we were there in mid-January (2020) that we were there at the perfect time. This is because it’s when the mother humpbacks come to have their babies in the area and it’s also mating season. I am not sure how long this lasts. I do know when we were in PV in April (in 2017) it was not a good time for this excursion which is why we didn’t do it then. Our tour provider said it wasn’t a good time to see them - he may have mentioned January-February was the best time for that trip.

Can someone with limited mobility go? He can walk a short distance with a roll actor and go up steps if there is a railing.

Are the whales there at certain times in the year , as we are going in June t?

The whales are south off of Mexico right now as it is warmer water for the birth of the babies. I believe they will head back up north when the babies are about healthy enough to go at about 2-4 months old...not sure if they will still be there in June....
Disculpen que diferencia hay de salir desde el muelle público Paradise Village o Terminal maritima API? Veo que hay un costo al ingreso de este último cual es el costo? Además de esto cual es la diferencia además de la hora de más? Si Dios quiere reservamos para día 8 de Marzo. Quedo en espera de cualquier comentario. Muchas gracias.
