We selected the Foresta Inn because it was listed on the Taman Safari Park website. We wanted to stay overnight after visiting the Safari Park and for that it served it's purpose. It's location is fairly close to the Safari Park, situated almost on top of the mountain with a nice view. However we felt that the hotel was not ready for us as visitor at that time, maybe because of our stay during the off-holiday season on a weekday, i even think we were the only guests at that day. The good thing was the friendly and helpful staff. Also our room(standard) was clean, had Television (indonesian channels only) and the bed was very comfortable. Room service was said to be available although we didn't call for that. Breakfast was choice between Mie Goreng or Nasi Goreng with tea, coffee or water(can be served/consumed in hotel restaurant, terrace or in your room). Also we were allowed to check in and enter our room hours before official check-in time(of course this depends on availability of your room). The bathroom however was disappointing, with leaking tap over the sink and more annoyingly a constantly running toilet flush(i ended up turning off the water behind the toilet because of the annoying sound) The shower (with bath) probably was not used for a while because initially the water coming out was very dirty and brown, also the hot water was not working(and cold water can feel almost freezing in the indonesian mountains). The bathroom also had some black spots on the ceiling, probably due to leakage in above bathrooms. The pool was outright dirty when we arrived. Even though the day we arrived the weather was not so great (little chilly and cloudy) and that day we would be out to the Safari Park anyway, so we did not plan on a swim. The next morning was nice, warmer and a little sun, suitable for a quick dip, but by then they emptied the pool and started to clean it. The hotel resort looked a little rundown here and there, but they were busy fixing things here and there. The hotel terraces were clean and green. I would have given a higher rating if they sorted out the problems such as the hot water and cleaning the pool prior to our visit (maybe when we booked our reservation a week in advance) I must admit, knowing Indonesian mentality, that if i complained about the hot water they would probably do their best to fix it or find a solution, but since we only planned to stay 1 night as rest stop after the Safari Park i didn't bother to do so Of all the hotels listed on the Taman Safari website, this was the most complete with facilities in the lower price range (260.000rp/night standard room). Staying in this (or any of the other listed hotels) gives you a decent discount on the entrance fees in the Safari park. Experience taught me that for 260.000rp i could have gotten a much worse place to stay, so go ahead and try this hotel, but when making your reservation just make sure and ask about the working hot water and if the pool is cleaned(if you're planning to use the pool) Knowing that they were busy fixing and cleaning i might consider returning here when i want to go to the Safari park again, would in fact review my rating to very good or even excellent if above items were sorted out by then. Also a tip to the Hotel Manager: adding Wifi to hotelrooms would be a great plus!…
