In ways I like this place, and in others not so much.
I love the palms with the snow capped mountains in the distance.
I love the water with the palms being in the 'desert'.
There is not the amount of birds this year as last year, where did they all go?
The walk around the park and the ponds is nice and easy, but not in the way of scenery.
Once you have been here, that is enough.

Will be returning to Agua Caliente Park! Very quiet and relaxing place to enjoy a meal and watch some wildlife! Will be wearing some closed toed shoes next time to go on some of the non paved walking trails!

According to the Apple Maps app this park is temporarily closed, but that is no longer true. Due to a fire started by lightning in September, a small part of the park is fenced off during restoration. However, the vast majority of the park was unaffected and it remains a great spot for birding, walking, has easy access (paved trails) for disabled, and is pet friendly.

Oasis in the desert. A lovely park with nice walking paths. Museum closed due to Covid, but my friend and I enjoyed our walk, seeing turtles and ducks. I could go back here again and again for a nice walk. Being from Florida it was very different.

This place is special. With the pond and lush green foliage, it is a welcome escape from the sweltering desert of the rest of the city. We used to play sports, catch turtles, or just walk the trails behind the pond. Probably my favorite park in the city. For a couple years the pond had almost dried out, but I heard they have filled it back up. Can’t wait to go back :)

After being closed for several months for renovations, this northeast Tuscon oasis has reopened. Now that temperatures are rising, Agua Caliente Park is a great place for morning walk.

Today, (Friday 4/10) we just had to get out of the house, after sitting and reading books, or communicating with family members and friends via email for the past two weeks. This park is very close to us, and when we moved to Tucson, we took guided bird watching tours here for several months. Learned so much about the birds of the Southwest, and thanks to the guide, we were, then, able to identify the bird sounds coming from the desert behind our house.
Did not know if we would find the park open, but, not only was the gate ajar, but there were quite a few people there. As it is a very open space, social distancing was very easy. Picnic tables are spread apart (although some have remained grouped from previous times) , and we saw people enjoying their picnics, and being outdoors on this beautiful day. A few wore masks, and kept their heads down not making any eye contact with anybody. But, mostly, everybody smiled, or waved hello, while keeping their distance. There were many dog walkers, and it reminded us of when we used to take our son's dog there for walks. He used to board with us, while our son was on duty overseas. Lots of clean grass for the dogs to roll in.
The walks are easy and mostly level, so, even my husband, with his bad back, had very little issues. Also, there are benches everywhere, and most of them in the shade, so if one tires, there are plenty of places to take a rest. The benches are, also, good for sitting still, listening to the birds, and sounds of nature, and reflecting about life. There is such a satisfying feeling of peace.
Previously, we always used to see many ducks. Not this time. However, the turtles are still swimming around by the shore. The Visitor Center, and Shop are closed for the time being. Easter Sunday, the entire park will be closed. But, today, it was so wonderful being there, we hated to leave. Came home, and had a lovely picnic lunch in our backyard.

We visited this place March 23rd and the water in the lake was an amazing blue. I have never seen a lake this shade of blue and although a lot of work was being done to make the place more beautiful with real grass, pathways and information boards.... it was truly jaw dropping

No swimming or wading allowed. The closest public pools (Tucson Parks & Recreation) are Fort Lowell Pool at 2900 N. Craycroft and Palo Verde Pool at 355 S. Mann Ave.

Is bathing allowed in the hot spring?
Some hot-spring-specific websites list this as a bathing spot, some websites state that swimming is not allowed. Thanks!
Feita em 23 de janeiro de 2016
n\No, this is not a bathing site. It is primarily a park with picnic tables, hiking and birding. The water source is currently being supplemented by well water as the spring is drying up due to over building in the area and recent drought.

Hi,
Agua Caliente Park looks like a great place for a picnic, but I can't tell from the website how far a walk it is from the parking lot to the water and/or picnic tables. One in our party cannot walk long distances, is that a problem? Thank you.
Feita em 7 de junho de 2015
It is not far at all. I have mobility issues and it was not difficult at all. There are picnic tables in several areas, so you have your choice. It's a great place!
