Very serene and inspiring. The stained glass windows and mosaics on the floor are beautiful works of art that deserve to be preserved. It was very calming to see others in prayer inside this silent place while the world outside seemed hurried and chaotic.

This cathedral is by far the more interesting of the two in the city. It is up a hill, with space around it and a regal flight of steps up to it.
Fabulous interior with the walls all beautifully painted. There is some use of gilt but it is not dominant

There are two St Patrick Cathedrals in Armagh, both built centuries after St Patrick built his first stone church near where the Church of Ireland Cathedral now stands. As a Catholic, I recommend St. Malachy’s for praying and Adoration but St Patrick’s has a nice gift shop.

We have had many a fond memory in this place. Weddings, christenings and even a funeral on occasion.

Well worth visiting regardless of your faith. The statues and stained glass are beautiful and the grounds and immaculate. Great view of the city too.

The Catholic Cathedral of St Patrick is mesmerising and absolutely towers above the rest of the city of Arnagh. Its twin towers can be seen from almost anywhere in town and the views of the city from the top of its steps is quite superb.
I love how you can see the Protestant Cathedral from the main door as the two seem to gaze at each other from on high at different ends of the small city centre.
There is a guided tour apparently but we just did it ourselves. The interior is jaw dropping with amazing columns, arches and mosaics on the walls and ceilings. There are lovely stained glass windows throughout and a gleaming marble sabctuary.
The roof took a oht 5 decades to add because all the money collected to finish the cathedral had to be redirected to famine relief projects at the time. Watch for the 'famine line's in the roof.
Wonderfully peaceful, ornate and humbling. A must-do when in Armagh.

This cathedral is exquisite in design and decoration, all for the glory of God. The mosaic walls and ceiling are amazing. One can't imagine the time and devotion it took to accomplish such a task. Although modern in some aspects, the solemn beauty of ages past is carried out through lovely statues and mosaics of the Virgin Mary and other saints. It inspires one to pray.

Amazing site in Armagh for this Cathedral.
Very well maintained but one would need to be there for a recital or service, to appreciate the acoustics ... Peaceful and spotless.
Not as dramatic as some I’ve been to in say Italy or Montreal for eg, but the architecture is astounding, given the era it was built in.

We were fortunate to visit St Patrick's for an organ recital one evening. The program included sacred music and a beautiful rendition of Danny Boy. The Cathedral itself is a wonderful experience. A must-see destination when visiting Dublin.
